Unwantied House Guest
Here is a good question, How do you get a unwanted house guest out of your house? Here is the situation, OVER A YEAR AGO my husband needed help with our Construction Company. He had more work than we could handle, so he called a few of his unemployed half brothers that live in Georgia and asked if any of them wanted to come and stay with us in Kentucky for a few weeks until these jobs were done. We had no taker's, none of them wanted to come here and work. A few weeks ago we get a phone call from one of them, he is 35 years old, never married and still lived with his mother. His mother is selling her house and is moving in with her daughter due to her age and health reasons. He asked if he could come up here and stay with us. Without asking me, or my husband and I talking about it, my husband told him yes and let him come up here to work and live with us until he could get on his feet. The very day he came up here from Georgia, he left after staying a few hours! Said that he MISSED his mother and he thought that he just could not get used to the mountains or the country life we live up here and he went back to Georgia that day. When I talked to his Sister on the phone she told me a lot of things that my husband and I never knew, like Mommy has taken care of him for years and he will not work etc. After hearing all that my husband and I were glad he went home. Yesterday my husband got a call from him, said he wanted to come back up and stay a week and go FISHING ? My husband said that was fine, come on up. ( thinking that he would not even come back up here for fishing)
But TODAY after coming back from town, I pull in my driveway and guess who's here? When we talked he said, that he's "STAYING FOR GOOD."??
What happened to just FISHING??
The problem is, there is no work now, during the last few weeks sense he's been up here we made other plans for my husband to Sub-Contracted himself out to another company for the next 8 months, meaning we have no jobs or anymore employees! My husband is working for someone else now.
I'm so upset, and I'm trying to be NICE! I have never had to deal with this kind of situation before.
What are we to do, the invitation to work is OVER A YEAR OLD, I feel like his mother and sister are taking advantage of me and my family with there problem's of needing to dump him off on someone else, I believe his sister's story of he's never going to work and free loaded off his mother for years, I checked that out with the rest of the family. I feel like my home is being invaded, I don't know him and only meet him two time in 8 years. And with my husband working for someone else, that leaves this MAN here with me and my kids all day! What am I supposed to with him here all day??
He has this annoying, extremely large dog, that is destroying my home... in just the one day that he has been up here.
I CAN NOT HANDLE THIS... I'm afraid that I'm going to have to raise my 3 kids and a 35 year old BABY! And I could just CHOCK my husband for doing this to our family, we have enough problem's as it is, our 5 years old son has 49XXXXY Syndrome, and I've got two teenagers at home, and we were getting ready to move this summer... my plate is full!
I really need some good advice on this one.
Thanks!

I see where it is difficult. He just can't stay. I guess your husband isn't willing to have a good sit down talk with him so you will have to !

Well, all I can say is that your husband is probably the one who needs to take care of this one. He knows the problem, and knows there is no obligation to this guy anymore. Does this guy really think he's going to live there for good? If you can't nicely find a way to put it to him that he can't stay there for more than a couple of weeks, throw some rent prices in his face and see if he stay then. I'm sure anyone in their right mind can understand that freeloaders are not welcome. If not, then a little rudeness is well deserved
