I would very much like to help, but first I need to know what exactly you would like the finished product to look like. Do you wish to have painted wood floors? Please explain a little more so I can help you.

Floors are NOT painted. Some are carpet covered and others are exposed. I will remove all carpet and refinsih ALL floors. House also needs to be painted. Which comes first?- refinish or paint?

I would paint the walls first then refinish the floors. That way if paint drips or oversprays it won't matter. You will take it up when the floors get sanded. Just make sure your walls are completely dry before sanding the floor.

Exactly what Emland said. Use drop cloths for painting if you like, but like she said any splatters will probably be taken up when you refinish the floors.
