    Cabinet refinish - automotive finish
I want to paint my oak cabinets so that it resembles the finish on a car. The color I want to use is black. I generally don't want to invest in an automotive spray gun and compressor though. Is there any method and products that might be able to accomplish this look?

If you are good, you could make a nice job of it with spray cans, although a big project might take quite a few. Mask well. You can buy high gloss enamels, but most of them are going to leave brush marks. A very short nap roller might leave more of the orange peal look many automotive finishes have.

You might look at a Japanned finish or an old nitrocellulose lacquer finish if you can find them. They are typically very high gloss. The final finish may be the result of sanding and polishing, a very tedious task on a whole kitchen of cabinets.

You could drop into a paint store and ask their advice.

I have a 1991 Honda Civic DX 1.5L that has conked out on me. The problem appears to be no power getting to the spark plugs. I don't know what to do to fix it. A new distributor is costly so I don't want to replace it without knowing that's the problem. Any ideas?
