    Stinky Toilet!
Lately I have noticed an odor coming from our second bathroom. It gets used very rarely but I couldn't figure out what is was. It is a new toilet, haven't even had it a year, so I am not sure what is going on. I have narrowed it down though to the back of the bowl. When I take the lid off there is a foamy white mess in there and it smells horribly. Any ideas on what it may be or how to fix it? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks!

Please be more specific and give us more details about this "foamy white mass". Where is it located? When you take what lid off? The tank lid or the toilet seat? Have you put anything in the tank? Let's hear from you. Regards, Tom

Yep, we need more details but you could do a full body cleansing of the toilet. Shut your supply off, flush and fill the tank with a 50/50 mix of water and fresh bleach. Answer Tom's questions and he'll get to the source. Hey, does the toilet have any wiggle at the floor when you sit on the throne and rock side to side?

The foam is in the tank-not when you lift the toilet seat. And no, I haven't put anything in the tank either. I really just discovered what where the smell was coming from this morning and I have no clue how to fix it! I do not believe the seat rocks from side to side either. Does that help at all?

Yep, try the 50/50 mix of bleach. Let it stand in the tank (not the bowl) for about 15minutes and then flush a few times. I think something is growing in your tank but not sure what fungus would make white foam. Bleach kills most all fungus. It's at least a starting point.
