I have a car that I am currently making payments on. Should I have a Title for this car? Or does the bank only have a Title? I fear that I may have lost it.

You should have the title with likely the bank listed on it as well if there is a lien. Check with your bank to make sure they don't have it. If not, you can usually file for a copy through your county clerks office.

You can get a duplicate title from your local DMV

I will add this is for places where you finace the autl though a bank or loan company.

If you bought the car from a "buy here / pay here " type of car lot, often they actually hold the title until it is paid for.
