Journalists who cover the Defense Department at the Pentagon can no longer gather or report information, even if it is unclassified, unless it’s been authorized for release by the government, defense officials announced Friday. Reporters who don’t sign a statement agreeing to the new rules will have their press credentials revoked, officials said.

I have written many criticisms of the compliant press. In this case I side with them . Not all the stuff the Pentagon tries to hide is national security issues . Certainly they have their share of CYA .

Pete has called a meeting for Generals and top brass (maybe as many as 900 in all) . From all over the world they will converge on the Marine Base at Quantico Tuesday for his pow wow .

The agenda so far is a secret. My guess is that when crunching the numbers it became obvious that there were too many Chiefs in ratio to Injuns .

Somehow we managed in WWII to win a 2 front war with 13 4 star generals and 4 5 star generals . Today there are 37 4 star generals and /admirals .

The ratio general and sr staff to soldiers is insane.
WW2 1:7,625
Vietnam 1:4,000
Gulf War 1:2,300
Now:1:1,444

I don't recall ever reading about a shortage of Generals in any of those wars.

Most of them are putting in their time before they become compliant press commentators .

Reports are saying he wants to cut staff by 20% . The government could shut down Wednesday . So Tuesday would be a good day for the pink slips
