Trump wants to build 'Trump Gaza Resort '
“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip” “I do see a long-term ownership position, and I see it bringing great stability to that part of the Middle East, and maybe the entire Middle East.”This was not a decision made lightly. Everybody I’ve spoken to loves the idea of the United States owning that piece of land, developing and creating thousands of jobs with something that will be magnificent.”

Turns out this was another art of the deal troll. There is no plan other than a spontaneous random thought.
Who knows ;maybe Jared Kushner whispered in his ear one time that Gaza was ideal beachfront property. I guess he will never be disciplined enough that the things he says matter .

Then again ;what are his critics offering ?

Trump can't let this idea go.
The Gaza Strip would be turned over to the United States by Israel at the conclusion of fighting. The Palestinians, people like Chuck Schumer, would have already been resettled in far safer and more beautiful communities, with new and modern homes, in the region. They would actually have a chance to be happy, safe, and free. The U.S., working with great development teams from all over the World, would slowly and carefully begin the construction of what would become one of the greatest and most spectacular developments of its kind on Earth. No soldiers by the U.S. would be needed! Stability for the region would reign!!!

He thinks that once the Palestinians are settled in suburbia all will be kumbaya .

Not likely. Israel handed them Gaza to self govern and they used it as a launch platform for attacks against Israel....... and trashed industry that Israeli settlers left when they were forced to resettle out of Gaza.

Please Trump; we tried nation building for more than 20 years . It doesn't work

The rub is to find a place which would accept the Palestinians and their "beautiful communities". Someone needs to tell Mr. Trump that this habit he has of thinking out loud is going to become old and stale to the voters in a very short period of time.

History has 2 examples of how this worked out (3 if you include the example above about the forced resettlement of Jewish settlers from Gaza)

1 Black September . After the Arab defeat in the 1967 6 day war ;Palestinians relocated to Jordan . From there they continued to attack Israel . Then they got this notion that they could overthrow the Hashemite monarchy of King Hussein .

The king got tired of them and attacked them November 1968 .
That lead to an agreement between the kingdom and the Palestinians .

As Wiki notes ;the Palestinians did not live up to the agreement
    Seven-point agreement (Jordan) - Wikipedia

What it lead to was assassination attempts against King Hussein and other incidents like plane hijackings .

King Hussein decided to end the threat. A war ensued . When Syria intervened ;Israel came to the aid of Jordan. The king made more concessions to the PLO . But by July 1971 King Hussein had forced the Palestinian PLO out of the country .

Where did they go ? They went to Lebanon. From there they continued their attacks on Israel.

    2 , The 1982 Lebanon war.

While they were in Lebanon they did such things as plan and execute the terror attack on Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics. Thier attacks also led to 2 Israeli invasions of Lebanon . One in 1978 and one in 1982. Their presence in the country also caused a civil war in Lebanon. Various ceasefires between the PLO and Israel were violated .
By 1982 Israel had had enough.

June 6,1982 Israel launched an invasion.
Syria fought on the Palestinians side.
In a couple of days the Israelis had Beirut surrounded . A siege commenced

That ended when an agreement was struck to relocate the defeated Palestinians to various nations throughout the Middle East and North Africa ( oh yeah that was the last time the Palestinians were relocated to have a fresh start )

While this was going on the US Marine barracks and the embassy got hit with terrorist bombings .
