    Broke off diverter stem
Shower diverter was sticking, took a pipe wrench to stem and managed to snap stem off. Can't see anything for socket to fit on back in wall. House was built in 1985 and I'm guessing it's a generic 3 handle model. I've changed guts on both hot and cold with no problems. Anybody got any ideas? I'm pretty much a shower guy so I was lucky the stem broke off in shower mode.

Can you post a picture of the faucet, and possibly the broken diverter inside the wall ?

You probably need one of these,

Shower valve socket set. A specific model, or picture would be helpful.

I am replacing seats and stems in tub/shower. The old one is Sterling--the new faucet set it a PricePfister. The PF diverter stem doesn't fit into the seat (the hot and cold stems do). Can I go to another size diverter with PF?
