Do I need to drill a new well?
Help! I have a 507' deep well that is 24 years old. We have replaced three deep submersible well pumps over the past 7 months. Well company says it is picking up debris and killing the pumps. Last pump lasted 13 days. Recently raised pump from 500' to 480' to try to get it above debris. Have not seen any debris in our water and we should have plenty of water with most recent measurement at 303'. All electrical checks seem to be OK. And now after 6 days this time we have no water. Could well-casing leaks be the problem? We are desperate and thankful for any possible advice.

After 24 years the casing AND SCREENS(?) may well be deteriorated, but I can only guess how deep that deterioration goes, yes it could well be the entire well shaft. Raising the pump may be a short term answer, only if it works, but a new well may be your long term solution and allows you to upgrade quite a bit from the previous methods of well casing and SCREENING techniques.

Does your well company offer camera inspections? That would go a long way in getting the best information to assess the scope of your problem, and would be my recommendation before any further decision is made.
