    I recently sold a property in another country. How are capital gains figured?
    I would like to figure out how much I will owe the IRS. I need some help from an accountant.

    What you pay in capital gains is dictated mostly by your overall financial situation.

    If the sale of the house is your ONLY income, the capital gains tax could be as little as ZERO.
