I looking for some advice. I managed to drill a hole in a water pipe under the floor
I looking for some advice. I managed to drill a hole in a water pipe under the floor boards. I tuned off the radiators and mains and three of the vales in the airing cupboard.

I have joined it back up and now. An was wondering how the water I lost gets back into the system. I have turned all the water back on. What next.

Hope to hear from you soon

Airing cupboard is - British term for where the hot water heater is?

You get the water back by letting the air out. One way is to open some of the valves til water streams out without spurting air along with water. Highest ones in the house may have the most air.

There must be a valve to allow water to enter the system. Open it. Than, you need to "bleed" the system. Go to the most-distant radiator. There is an air release valve / or air release screw on the unit. Slowly unscrew it. Air sill start "draining" from the radiator. Once water starts spraying out, close it. If this is a multi-story building, you may be required to do it on every floor

    Hope that helps
