    Fbi fingerprint check
I am currently studying for an insurance license. I understand that an fbi background check will be performed. I had a dui conviction over 15years ago and am concerned it will show up on the report. My current employer did a criminal background check and it came up clean but I am worried about the fbi check. Am I just wasting my time studying for the exam? I have never been in any other trouble other than the dui conviction

    Hello P:

Didn't you bother to find out if your conviction would bar you from your chosen line of work BEFORE you began your course of study?? Jeez. I'm a convicted felon. I wouldn't go to law school and THEN ask whether I could be admitted to the bar. But, that's just me.

You DO know that the criteria for getting an insurance license are available to you. Just maybe, it doesn't say anything about long ago convictions. If it were me, that's where I'd be looking.

Will your conviction show up? It surly could.
