Someone ran into Mr. Brown in an auto mishap. He has road service coverage which includes
Towing service to a certain garage, picked by his insurance company. But the police told him he must use the towing company that has a contract with the city. Of course if his tow company comes first he could use it. Have you heard of this before?

Common if Mr. Browns car is not able to leave the roadway on its own power. Police need to get traffic back to normal as quickly as possible.

My Neighbor had that happen recently. Cost them twice as much to tow 3 miles as it cost me to have my last vehicle towed 17 miles.

It's a common practice and you should still get YOUR towing service to reimburse you at the contracted rate. I sure would try it.
