Harbor Breeze Remote Controlled Ceiling Fan problem
My remote controlled Harbor Breeze fan was working OK up to about 6 years ago when we put the house up for sale. Now it isn't working at all. Have changed battery and the red light on the remote lights up whenever a button is pushed but it has no effect on the fan/light at all. The switches couldn't have been changed as it hasn't been tampered with since it was installed. It is wired through a light switch which has to be turned on in order for the remote to work... have tried it with the switch in both the on and off positions. All circuit breakers are on and none are tripped. Don't want to but a new fan as we are still trying to sell the house. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Seriously, you are trying to repair a six year old fan.

I suggest that you replace the fan and be done with it.

I purchased this fan about 4 years ago. The remote actually has a "REVERSE" button inside the outer fan speed and off button. I see that the newer models do not have this REVERSE button.
