Want to test the flow valve on the icemaker. Have my volt meter
On the plug. But how do you get the icemaker gear to work. I though
There was a neutral hole and motor hole and you could use a jump wire
To get the gear moving. See picture of the ice maker. There are two holes but they are not marked.

Don't follow your post. Don't know what you are trying to do?
The filling of the ice maker is controlled by the fill valve. It is usually located down under the refrigerator behind the toe kick.
It is controlled by a timer in the ice maker and usually opens for about 6 or 7 seconds.

Down to the fill valve. You have to put a tester on the plug. The icemaker
Has to be engaged first for the test to be done

Ice maker was working great for 4 months. Everything is new.
No ice. Have a inline filter that is only 4 months old. First want to test
If the inlet line to see if water is coming from the source into the valve. Next check the line that goes to the icemaker if it is block. Lastly want to check if the icemaker itself is sending current to the inlet valve.

Agree that pretty good video for replacing a defective valve but you should first determine if the valve is defective, not just assume.

First you should note the type of valve that is used to connect the refrigerator water line to the house plumbing.
This is not the type valve of valve most often used. A piercing type valve is most often used. This type of valve is clamped to the piping. The valve stem is then closed and pierces the wall of the pipe. When the valve stem is opened, water flows through the small hole made in the pipe. That small hole is subject to blockage due to sediment or mineral build up.
First close piercing valve completely. If the hole is blocked that should clear it. Disconnect the water line from the refrigerator solenoid valve. Open the piercing valve and see if you have water.

If you have water to the solenoid valve you can then remove it and bench test it. Find and old extension cord. Cut off the female end. Strip back each wire and put a spade terminal connector on each wire. Connect this to the solenoid valve.When the extension cord is plugged and unplugged into an outlet, you should see and hear the solenoid valve open and close.

If you wish you can do this testing without removing the valve.

Am not sure what is the brand and the model number of your refrigerator if you can tell us please, the common problem are either the filter or the inlet valve, Talaniman have posted excellent link also I have the attach link how to do some tests, please tell us the brand and the model number.

Yes that is all correct.Everything is new. The Icemaker and the solenoid(4Months)
But what if the ice maker is not sending current to the solenoid? I will do the first test. Open and close the saddle valve, and see if water comes in from the water heater cold line. The GE inline water filter 4 months old, may also be clogged.
1 step at a time. Appreciate the help

I'v notice the 4 month old ice maker itself doesn't come during a 24 hour period.
I put a slip of paper on the dispenser arms it did not move in 24 hours.

Don't assume that the problem is the dispenser arms, if there is no water coming through the supply valve there is no pressure to lift the arm on the dispenser, I would suggest to check the water supply line for water flow at the inlet valve, remove the filter debris by putting water in the filter it may work but not a fix if work it means there are debris inside replace the filter if the problem still there check the fill valve as mentioned in Videos and replace, if your refrigerator is 4 months old you are still under warranty call Sears customer service for help and free parts, good luck.

Thank you. The ice maker and accessories are 4 months old. The fridge is older.
Yes I need to check the inlet valve first. The inline filter does snap out, and I could
Flush it out.

Did some primary test. Good water flow to the solenoid. Blew into line to ice maker.
It may be a clogged inline GE water filter or the-new solenoid has gone bad. The ice maker kit came along with the solenoid are only 4 months old. Will keep checking.
Already ordered a new kit, if it suddenly works I can bring it back

Is there actual ice in the little containers, ever? Mine was frozed, I know that sounds funny but ice makers have a little heater that heats very briefly to break the ice loose from the craddle. Also, frequent issue with older frigs is the mother noard going bad, usually located behind the panel with the buttons

No nothing at all. Just stopped working. Was working great for 4 months. No water gets into the tray. Waiting for the new kit to arrive. New ice maker new solenoid will bring this system back

Before paying several hundred dollars for that tray it may be cost effective to have a repair technician take a look. It Gould be the mother board and not the tray.
