    Heart Issues Confused Scared
Hello everyone for the past few weeks I've been having "heart problems" I have problems with my heart as it is... it beats too fast sometimes known as tachycardia and a bit of blood pressure trouble here and there... but a few weeks ago I had a weird sensation like my heart was in my chest/throat this went on for about an hour really weird flutter pounding until I passed out even though I wasn't hyperventilating, I went to ER who done an ECG and said I'm fine they sent me home, the next day I was fine for half the day then had same symptoms at night once again rushed to ER and ECG was fine... in these past couple of weeks I've had numerous ECGS and blood tests done all came out normal except one blood test showed my potassium was just slightly low nothing dramatic... what I'm worried about is I've never been anxious or stressed but I constantly feel like I'm having "heart attack" symptoms and they aren't getting better or staying the same but there's always another symptom added on to what I already have. At the moment I get slight chest pain here and there, shortness of breathe and tightness has been constant, dizziness constant, abdominal pain, headache, I feel a bit confused and agitated at times, I'll get numbness in my hands and left leg the list goes on... this all started getting worse since that heart flutter I've been admitted to hospital and they said they've been monitoring me and there's nothing serious they can see... they know my heart rate goes up from time to time but they said that's something I have to live with... which I think is a bit poor of an answer. So anyway I've been in hospital pretty much everyday these past few weeks if not in ER I'll be admitted or at the GP but they can't give me an answer as all my ECGs are fine and blood tests but they know I have symptoms. Has anyone else has this before? I'm a female by the way. I've tried not thinking about any of this but it's been going on for so long that I've had enough and want an answer... they keep saying its anxiety but I have never had anxiety or had done anything that could lead to anxiety or panic attacks, I can't sleep at night anymore either which is very not normal as about two weeks ago even with all the pain I could manage to sleep and sleep for hours... now I'm lucky to get 3-4hours of sleep I was put on sleeping meds which made me feel yuck now I'm on melatonin. WHAT IS GOING ON??

Have they suggested wearing a Holter monitor at home for 24-48 hours?
I might emphasize the numbness down your left leg.
How old are you? Are you obese? Pre or post menopause? What's your BP most times? Do you have a cuff at home to take it? Do you smoke?

Repeated ECGs and blood tests coming back normal would have me wanting more tests, like a whole body MRI. Not sure it's any more expensive than what you are going through. Does your hospital have a good reputation?

Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, I don't play one on TV, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Last May I had the same symptoms although to a much smaller scale. I woke up at about 4:40 in the morning, my heart was racing, my right arm was shaking out of control, and my chest was very tight. Scared my partner more than me. It only lasted less than 10 seconds though. I am a former EMT and I know heart attacks are longer than 10 seconds.

I went to the heart doctor and he put me through a ton of tests. EKG was great. I did the 24 heart monitor that Joy suggested and it actually showed I had one of those attacks during it, but I never felt it.

As was explained to me there are plumbing events and electrical events in the heart. Heart attacks are plumbing events. Because I play sports all the time, my heart rate usually resides at 48-52 beats a minutes and my blood pressure is really low. What I have and you may as well are electrical events. They are non-lethal pulses that make your heart race. They are annoying as crap, but they aren't dangerous. If they become too annoying the doctor can either prescribe pills or do a procedure that just sounds horrid. So I've decided to live with mine.

But I get what you are going through. When something goes wacky with your heart, it's the only thing you can think about. It was a stressful beginning to my summer.

ADDING - Low potassium is not a good thing either. I had to assist in the rescue last year of someone who had a low potassium episode. It can impact your heart rhythms.

I'm 25 and weigh 61kg I lost 7kg in less than two weeks. I don't smoke drink alcohol. I've had a Holter monitor before it showed I have tachycardia but that's it. My hospital refuses to do other tests on me because of my age which I think is a load of crap.
