    What keeps burning out my fuel sending unit in my 1981 cj8
    The fuel gauge did not work when I got the jeep, so I replaced the tank and sending unit and it still doesn't work it shows full all the time.

    Faulty gauge or bad connection? Sending unit hanging-up?

    The sending unit reads 8 ohms which is full and the tank is only half full.

    Sounds like you found the problem--install a new assembly. Consider going OEM, if you didn't before.
