    My john deere 111 goes forward for a little bit then quits

    Hi,
    I gather this is one of the old 111s out of the 1970s. It sounds to me like it is a belt tension problem. Most likely culprit is an idler that has gone to pieces. There are a pair if them in the middle beneath/inside the frame, one flat and one V.
