    Does a 1987 condo have wiring that handles 194 degree F for a ceiling light?
    I installed a new kitchen light. I read that it says the wiring should handle 194 degree F. I'm now wondering if my wiring does that. My condo in NJ was built in 1987

    1987 was probably 75 C. New is 90C. What is the wattage and bulb layout on the new light? NJ?? NJARNG 1963-69, born in Camden raised in Pennsauken, Merchantville and Moorestown.

    why would you be concerned about this?
    The wiring for the fixture itself is typically rated very high to comply with UL requirements but wiring for your house should comply with the National Electrical Code which does not require ratings that high for general wiring.
    (Like ma, I've been in south jersey forever!)

    All nm-b wire has a 90degree c rating for the past 40 years or so, the wire in your condo is appropriate for any home lighting fixture, the fixture wire itself is generally higher temperature rating
