I need instructions and a diagram on how to install a fuel line
On a #917351492 craftsman 3.7ps chainsaw?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Line up to the hole in the gas tank to let the
Line enter into the tank.I can't even get a
Small piece of stiff wire to go from one
Hole to the other.

Hi,
You have a very old Roper saw. It is made to be similar to an old Homelite XL100 series or a Lombard. It can be a pain to rout the line. The use of a wire is often helpful but it must be bent in an arc (circular shape) of about 2 1/2 to 3 inches. Extra hose is called for since you need to cut an end to a very shallow angle (bevel) and feed it that way and use pliers to ease it through the two holes (airbox and tank.)
You can start from either direction; Through the gascap into tank and out with the wire going through the hole in the tank to the cap opening, inserting the hose on the wire and working it down the wire to the hole, getting the tip of the bevel to protrude and pulling it through with needlenose pliers and the going rearward to the airbox. Or you can begin at the airbox and go in the other direction. In both directions the hole in the fuel tank will be the most challenge; you must maneuver the line to come out the hole to be grasped in the first way, or you must reach in through the fuel opening and grasp the tip of the bevel to pull it into the tank.
No matter what the line needs to be well lubricated, petroleum jelly or oil, to get it installed without too much damage. Once done the beveled end is cut off straight to attach to the fuel filter or carb, depending on the direction taken.
