    My Pony Lawn tractor not starting... won't even turn over?
    My Troy Bilt Pony will not start... yesterday after charging the battery and having no luck, I moved gear shift from neutral to forward and it started.. today started fine, took a break and when I came back nothing... absolutely nothing. Won't turn over or even make a sound. Tried the same thing without any success. Found a wire wrapped with electrical tape near the front of left side not attached... It appeared to come from the main wiring harness? I know know nothing about mechanics so all help is appreciated!

    What makes you think a heating and air conditioner technician would know anything about lawn tractors?

I have a 16.5 HP B&S tractor, model 917.271640 that won't turn over. It will start when jumped. Thinking it was the battery, I bought a new one and it still won't start. I jumped the new battery and it started. W/o the jump, the flywheel turns a bit, then stops. Any ideas?? Thanks
