    Gas leak/landlord ignoring us
Need more help!! We have a bad gas leak so peco came out and red flagged everything until our landlord repairs it. We can't shower, cook, or do laundry. Here's the kicker, our landlord is ignoring us!! They informed us a couple days ago that they are selling the house and we have 60 days to move out. We are month to month. We have 2 young kids, so my fiancée let them know how she felt, which is I'm sure is why they are ignoring us. They are slumlords and gave us a hard time each and every time we needed repairs done. And they made us go without heat for 3 weeks because they didn't want to replace the heater. That was after they were informed the previous season that it needed replacing. So what do I do if they are ignoring us?? We need to live!! This is an ongoing issue that just won't stop. Its not like we are moving out tomorrow or next week and can suck it up. We have a minimum of another month here!! Her and my fiancée go at it all the time over this house, so we know exactly what this [person] is doing. Please help

Do I notify the township, lawyer etc etc.? She is ignoring us just like she's done numerous times in the past. This time, its worse... she has out in 60 days! I know this b*itch all too well!!

You can notify landlord, that you will call and have it fixed, and pay them from the next two months rent. If over that, you would have to sue them for additional.

Or you can just move. You are going to have to move anyway, and then sue them for the last month rent back, since house not livable.

I would notify the landlord, in writing, hat you are withholding the rent until the gas is restored. Tell them you are using the rental to pay for a laundromat, eating out and showers.

The worse that can happen is he tries to take you to court to evict you, at which point you show the court the letter, the requests for repairs and your expenses to compensate for the lack of gas.

While what ScottGem is generally good advice, it will depend on what state or country OP is in; different jurisdictions have varying laws on tenant remedies.

I wouldn't have suggested it if you planned on staying, but since you have to move anyway, I think it's the best move.
