When I was about 13 years old, I woke up one morning and my body was covered in hives and my arms & legs were swollen. We went to the doctor but he couldn't figure out why I broke out in hives, so he prescribed me steroids that I took, which made the hives go away. Weirdly that was the only time its ever happened in my life. After it went away, I never got it again. Two or three years ago I went to Serbia. The last three days before our flight back to the US I had bad diarrhea. That kept me next to the bathroom. Finally we got back into the US. And I had no more diarrhea. In March of this year, I had severe strep throat and was put onto antibiotics. The strep went away, but I didn't even have symptoms of strep, I went to the ER because I felt tired and the doctors told me I had strep. Towards the end of April, I started to get stomach pains. My aunt had given me these natural constipation remedies to make me go to the bathroom. I ended up going, but my stomach was bloated and it hurt. I ended up going to the ER because it was hurting and they told me that it was the stomach bug. I then made an appointment with the gastro doctor. All my blood work and stools came back normal. I even did an endoscopy and that came back normal too. The stomach pain did subside, but recently its been bothering me again help

Symptoms:
Abdominal pain
Headache
Trouble falling asleep
No appetite
I get hungry at midnight
Muscle and joint aches
Fatigue
Weak
My hands have been itchy
Chills

It really could be hundreds of things, or nothing at all. I don't see that it is life threatening, so I don't thing the ER is appropriate for these symptoms.

What has made you think of parasites?

It sounds as though you have had a few episodes of being ill over the course of several years, which isn't unusual. The hives/swelling were possibly an allergic reaction or simply a reaction to something you were exposed to. Years after that you had diarrhea, which went away after a few days... likely something you ate or a stomach virus.

Few years after that you went to the ER because you felt tired?? And found out that you had strep throat... which doesn't always present with the classic symptoms. Then stomach pain and back to the ER. What natural remedy for constipation did your aunt give you? Did you actually have constipation? Blood work, and further testing, has been normal.

If you look at all of what has gone on, there isn't much that can be tied together... it has mostly been random illnesses or discomforts which many people ill experience.

As J_9 said, what you are experiencing now doesn't sound as though you need the ER. If you continue to feel unwell, make an appointment to see your doctor or visit a walk-in clinic. If you see your own doctor, you can always mention your concerns about parasites, and they will likely be able to put your mind at ease.
