    Heavy flow
    I am 45 have had heavy periods, was told I have fibroids. On around June 20 I had spotting it was period time so thought it was that. It was very light that week on and off. On the 23 I passed a huge ( bigger than normal, almost length of my hand but not as wide) clot. After which just some spotting here and there. The whole first week of July light spotting. Then on July 7 it was like I started my normal period except for the last there days its been very heavy soaking through super plus tampon and dripping to pad every 3 hours or so. With small pieces of clots. Also have slight dull cramplike pain more towards my back area. Its been really normal for me to bleed really heavy but this time its more so and with the clots and the dull cramping I'm a bit worried it may be something more.

    This is something I would really discuss with your OB. It sounds serious and beyond the scope of me and the other experts here.

    At 45 you could be entering peri menopause. This causes changes in period length, flow, pain, etc. Your OB/GYN can put your mind at rest.
