Feel shy, no confidence!
I am college student. I feel shy all the time and don't dare to look into other people' eyes especially facing strangers. Because of this problem, I have social anxiety. =(
Feeling bad! What can I do?
What steps should I take?

The reason why I asked you that is we know ourselves better. When you find what it is that makes you feel shy, you can easily find the solution to it.

Overcoming shyness is all about one basic concept: people warm up to people who are interested in them, not people who think that they have to present themselves, to 'be' someone, to describe themselves, to think of some instant and clever way to be liked.
You will be liked if you forget about yourself and show all your interest in the other person -
Hi, are you new here too?
You look like a good friend of mine, who is a very nice person.
I like your (shirt, hair, necklace, music, book)
What did you think of that awful test?
I think we are in 2 classes together.. are you in English and Geometry?
Make a list of one-liners that feel right to you. At first encounter, don't get personal, like saying you like her hair. Save that for the second time!
Let us know how this goes.
PS: Some girls like shy guys. I was one back when I was your age.

Jason, it's good that you are in college, stay there. I did some reading on shyness. College can lift your confidance. Watch confidant people and do what they do, talk as they talk, and when you find that other's will eccept that from you as they do from other's you can increase your confidance from that. See a specialist and they can give you advice. Explain to them why you do not give eye contact, explore why this might the case with you, and you can face it, eliminate it and start to interact freely and have fun doing it. Were you well treated by people when you grew up? Did people listen well to you or not? Colleges have counclors on campas and it's free of charge to students. Read your class notes twice within 36 hours and it can help to move information from short term memory to long term memory. Hope this helps.
