    Ceiling fan on covered patio
Can you attach an electrical cord to a ceiling fan on a patio and run the cord to a regular outdoor wall outlet?

There is no existing electrical connections on the underside of the patio cover but there is an outdoor electrical outlet on the outside wall of the house.

Can you? Yes. Should you? Probably not. You should use a properly installed GFCI connection.
