    Replacing theromstat with HoneywellRTH2300;
    The old unit has W2 wire... no place on new unit other than W to install.

    So far nothing...

    Had to tape off a C wire, if that helps.

    If the old stat had a W2, you probably have a heat pump with 2nd stage heat (most likely electric). The thermostat you bought is not compatible with such a system. https://customer.honeywell.com/resou.../69-2448ES.pdf
