How can I add a light fixture before a ceiling fan light with switch at end of run?
I have a ceiling fan light fixture with power entering (R,WB wiring) from left side and the switch that controls the fixture on the right side (R,W,B wires)
I want to add a light fixture before the fan/light and have it controlled by the same light part of the switch at the end of the run. That is both lights will come on simultaneously when I turn on the light part of the fan/light switch. Can this be done? And if so how do I go about wiring.
    Thank you

    Good morning.

By (R,WB) do you mean "Red - White - Black" wires?

Does power originate at the switch? If it does, then you need to determine which conductor on the switch supplies the power to the fan's light.

Run a 2 wire (with ground) (Black - White - Bare Ground) from the switch outlet box to the light outlet box. At the switch, create a "Pigtail" (feed to fan's light, feed to ne light - connection to switch). At the new light outlet box, connect the Black from the switch to the Black to the light, White from the switch to White to the light. Bare ground to outlet box (if metal box) and light ground wire.

Alternate method - Using a 2 wire cable with ground, connect the black to the new light to the switch's feed wire and the fan's light wire (usually Blue). Connect White to White. Run the cable to the new light's outlet box and connect to the new light as directed above.

Use which ever method is easiest for running the cable.
