Heat Pump
My rheem rpnl 021/jaz heat pump isn't running. I just had the yearly inspection done a couple of weeks ago and apparently everything was working properly.

Is anything running? Indoor fan, maybe?

Yes it is. The auxiliary heat has kicked in

Could be any number of things. Do you have a voltmeter & know how to use it? Without such, we're pretty much dead in the water.

I have a newly installed ruud 13 seer heat pump, it works fine. It emits a constant hum,louder sometimes than others, this hum continues when machine is off, it will only cease when power is off to machine. I have heard various transformers sound similar,but should this heat pump make this...

I am trying to replace the thermostat for my heat pump the one I've got seems to be running the emergency heat only. All wires were connected as they were in the old one. Is regular heat and emergency heat considered multi-stage? If so, I need another thermostat... please advise.
