If it's a drug violation charge... I think not. The lines are already very long for people with clean records. A drug charge will get you thrown out of section 8 housing if you were already in it.

No drug charge I simply told my boyfriend at the during a argument don't leave I don't want to go and the cops said that I can't say that and charged me with false imprisonment

OH.. you mean domestic Violence...
Charges mean little... was there a conviction? That's what matters most. Not all charges result in convictions.

That's the only thing on my back ground and I just got accepted into housing so I was curious if that was going to hurt my chances moving forward

If you passed the application and screening and got to a wait list... then you are likely OK.

Im on a deferred sentence if I complete class and crap it will be off my record this year in aug but housing just sent me a letter after the fact so I was just wondering

It should not make a difference, a drug change would have.

My question is how long can a tenant be gone from their apartment that is being paid for with section 8 money, say this person has to be sent to a long term care faculity, does HUD have a definite rule on this?
