    Specific Heat (Chemistry)
    How much heat is required to raise the temperature of 854g of H2O from 23.5 degrees Celsius, to 85.0 degrees Celsius?

    It would be realllly helpful if someone could take me through the steps on how to solve this problem so I can learn how to do the others efficiently =]

    Q = mcΔT

    Q is the heat energy (J), m is the mass (kg), c is the specific heat capacity (J/kgK), and ΔT is the change in temp (T2 - T1) (K).

    for water, I think c is 4000 J/kgK (but check, it's been a long while for me :)
    Just plug in your numbers and you're away!
