For my own information, what is a mud pipe? If this is a cement joint simply take a chisel and break the cement out. If I were going to reconnect I would pour and caulk in a lead and oakum joint. Good luck, Tom

    I'm stuck.
Doing a toilet/leaking pipe repair and I'm stuck with removing the drain pipe from the mud pipe. Seems it has been attached previously with concrete.

A mudpipe is the main, vertical drainpipe that runs from the roof down into the main city sewers. Usually about 5" diameter, cast iron (on old 90 yr. houses). All drains are attached to it.

Thanks for the explanation. Never heard that call a mud pipe before. My answer is still the same. Chisel out the cement joint and reconnect with lead and oakum. Good luck, Tom
