    Opiate withdrawal
    I am currently experiencing withdrawal symptoms from prescribed opiates. Is there anything I can do to help my symptoms! I am a 54 year old female who has been on medication off and on for 17 years. I wanted to get off the drugs to see how bad my pain is. I wanted to possibly try some other options i.e. acupuncture,etc.

    If there is an affordable rehab clinic nearby? Often you can't really ease off, it is a cold turkey kind of thing. It isn't going to be pleasant. Especially with the pain behind it, real or imaginary.

    Is your doctor aware that you're discontinuing the use of these pills? It's always best to talk to your doctor. Going cold turkey can not only cause withdrawal issues, but can also be bad for your health. Your doctor may be able to prescribe something to help you with the withdrawal.
