    Intestate succession
    My father died when iwas very small.my mother did kareva with my cousin uncle who was the only son of his father.both my mother and step father died intestate without any issue to them. What legal right I have in my step fathers property which is presently in the name of my mother.

    Did your step father die before your mother? In that case, she may have inherited his estate. In that case that he was your step father may be immaterial. You inherit from your mother. But you really need to make the relationships clearer.

    Intestate laws vary by area. Any question on law needs to include your general locale.

    Thanks a lot for your response.yes my step father died before my mother and she inherited his property.but what do u mean by need to make the relationships clearer ? Also pl. tell more about general locale.

    What country, what state... intestate laws go by where you live.
    I googled 'kareva' and find nothing of a legal type. She married an uncle according to tradition?
    It would seem likely that her children (and any children he had had) would inherit, but that would be in the US. It could be quite different where you are.

    You refer to your father and step father and cousin uncle so I'm not sure who is who.

    But if your step father died before your mother then you may or may not have inherited part of his estate. Depending on whether he had a will or not, you may have been given a bequest or your mother may have inherited everything. In which case your rights to your mother's estate are what matter here.

    As Joy said, general locale means where you live. Laws of inheritance vary. You don't have to be specific but a country at least, maybe a state or region.
