    I would like to know that if I take consultancy services from a consultant in US and do not wish to pay him, would there be a problem if he has all my details including SSN

    Hello kara:

    If you didn't pay him, there would be a problem EVEN if he didn't have your SS#. Besides, your SS# isn't going to help him sue you, but your address will. Does he have that? I'll bet he does.

    And esp if they can prove that you did not intend to pay before you used their service, since that would be fraud, since there was an intent not to pay.

    Assuming you are asking this in advance of using that service
