I took a mobile phone contract out for my ex boyfriends mum as I was only having it in my name for 2 months and then it was getting swapped. She was always going over her phone bill then that would mean I would have to keep the money out of my bank account so I didn't lose money. The phone was always paid late as she was going over and could not afford to pay it all off, The phone had been switched off about 2 months ago because the mother had run up a £100 bill which she could not afford, Therefore leaving me to have to pay. Recently She run up a phone bill of £101 so I had the phone turned off but offered to put it back on as soon as she paid what she owed, She refuses to pay what is owed and now I have had a letter saying I owe £300 within the next 10 days.
Even though the phone is in my name but I have not had the phone since day 1 is there anything that can be done? I don't mind paying £27 a month after its all paid off but is there anyway that the mother could pay as she was the one who run up the bills and owned the phone?

The phone is in your name so you are the responsible party. If you have proof that you got the phone for her, you can try suing her for the what she owes. But you have to pay the bill or they will sue you and/or ruin your credit.
