YouTube how to cut used corian
I am redoing my kitchen and had some corian given me from another kitchen.
there is enough to do my countertop but I need to cut it to fit. can you advise me the best way to cut it without breaking it and how to seal the seams thank you. marie (removed per site rules) |

Cut with a circular saw and 40 tooth carbide blade and a straight edge. Corian is heavy, support both sides of the cut to prevent breaking as you finish the cut. If possible cut from the bottom side. That way any chipping caused by the saw tooth exiting the cut is minimized. Cut at a comfortable speed. Don't cut too fast to cause chipping, don't cut too slow as that can cause melting from heat of the blade.
Corian is the same material and color all the way through, no sealing of edges, just sand lightly. |

I am just learning how to work with Corian countertops and I would like to know exactly what I should be doing since I don't have much room for error.
I am buying a range to replace a wall oven with a cooktop over set in corian. So I want to pull out the two units and cut the countertop without removing it if I can. I was looking at the Rotozip RFS1000 to do this job but I am wondering if I am going to have a hard time getting a nice clean...
My piece of corian is now 5'x3' I want to cut it dow to 55"x25" It also has wood under the corian. Do I remove the wood or cut right through it? What tools do I need?
