Budgets are made from compromises ;but because the law was deemed through a budgetary trick ,suddenly it's funding cannot be negotiated ? I remember very well when the Dems held the military budget "hostage " during the Reagan years .
Even Clintoon was smart enough to negotiate with Gingrich. That led to a balanced budget which the Clintonistas still take credit for.
CRs are the problem. Appropriations are supposed to be examined individually, not rubber stamped as part of a single "clean" bill.

If they don't want to pay the creditors of the US debt they should attempt to cut spending and reduce the debt. And that graphic is deceptive because the biggest holder of US debt is the US entitlement system and US bond holders . The Chinese holding ;apx $1.277 trillion is large .But when compared to the $16.8 trillion held by private US citizens and the government then the Full Faith Bill could hardly be called a Pay China First bill. That was pure demagogery on the Dem's part .

Actually calling the Bill the "Pay China First Bill" was 1st used by Dem Rep. Niki Tsongas.
Congresswoman Niki Tsongas : Press Releases : Tsongas rejects GOP's "Pay China First" bill
Again . China is not the largest holder of US debt . It is the largest FOREIGN holder of US debt . But the largest SINGLE holder of US debt is the US government ,which has been for years shifting social security withholding into the general revenue and replacing it with "the full faith and credit " of the United States. So when the Repubics passed that bill ,they are making sure that Social Security payments are the top priority in the case where a new debt ceiling cannot be agreed to . You see... tax receipts collected daily is more than enough money to pay the debt service. So when the emperor threatens that SS payments will be missed ;it's only because as the executive ,he instructs the Treasury to not make the payment .

I'm wondering why the National Park service is going to allow a pro-illegal alien rally on the National Mall ?

Every other President has had to negotiate, yet king obama feels he is different, this time he will see he is wrong !

"A new Fox News poll shows that a majority of American voters--58 percent--would vote "no" on raising the debt ceiling. Only 37 percent of American voters would vote to raise the debt ceiling.

An even bigger majority--62 percent--would only vote to raise the debt ceiling after "major cuts in government spending."

Only one in four Americans--27 percent--says that it would be "reckless" even to debate not raising the debt ceiling.

The poll, conducted by a bipartisan team of polling firms surveying 952 registered voters on land lines and cell phones, was conducted on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2. The margin of error is 3 percent.

The striking results of the poll indicate that most Americans are in line with the Tea Party position on the debt ceiling than with the politicians and pundits in Washington who routinely slam fiscal conservatives and the very idea of spending restraint.

I'm sure the usual suspects will see nothing wrong with this and find a way to either blame it on Republicans or claim it's lies or both, since apparently they support the new Obama dictatorship.

Vacationing seniors were locked inside their hotel rooms in Yellowstone with armed NPS rangers keeping watch.

'Gestapo' tactics meet senior citizens at Yellowstone

    October 8, 2013
    By John Macone Staff writer

NEWBURYPORT — Pat Vaillancourt went on a trip last week that was intended to showcase some of America’s greatest treasures.

Instead, the Salisbury resident said she and others on her tour bus witnessed an ugly spectacle that made her embarrassed, angry and heartbroken for her country.

Vaillancourt was one of thousands of people who found themselves in a national park as the federal government shutdown went into effect on Oct. 1. For many hours her tour group, which included senior citizen visitors from Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States, were locked in a Yellowstone National Park hotel under armed guard.

The tourists were treated harshly by armed park employees, she said, so much so that some of the foreign tourists with limited English skills thought they were under arrest.

When finally allowed to leave, the bus was not allowed to halt at all along the 2.5-hour trip out of the park, not even to stop at private bathrooms that were open along the route.

“We’ve become a country of fear, guns and control,” said Vaillancourt, who grew up in Lawrence. “It was like they brought out the armed forces. Nobody was saying, ‘we’re sorry,’ it was all like — ” as she clenched her fist and banged it against her forearm.

Vaillancourt took part in a nine-day tour of western parks and sites along with about four dozen senior citizen tourists. One of the highlights of the tour was to be Yellowstone, where they arrived just as the shutdown went into effect.

Rangers systematically sent visitors out of the park, though some groups that had hotel reservations — such as Vaillancourt’s — were allowed to stay for two days. Those two days started on a sour note, she said.

The bus stopped along a road when a large herd of bison passed nearby, and seniors filed out to take photos. Almost immediately, an armed ranger came by and ordered them to get back in, saying they couldn’t “recreate.” The tour guide, who had paid a $300 fee the day before to bring the group into the park, argued that the seniors weren’t “recreating,” just taking photos.

“She responded and said, ‘Sir, you are recreating,’
and her tone became very aggressive,” Vaillancourt said.

The seniors quickly filed back onboard and the bus went to the Old Faithful Inn, the park’s premier lodge located adjacent to the park’s most famous site, Old Faithful geyser. That was as close as they could get to the famous site — barricades were erected around Old Faithful, and the seniors were locked inside the hotel, where armed rangers stayed at the door.

“They looked like Hulk Hogans, armed. They told us you can’t go outside,” she said. “Some of the Asians who were on the tour said, ‘Oh my God, are we under arrest?’ They felt like they were criminals.”

Heaven forbid people who've lived a long life, served their countries and communities should dare be caught recreating on THEIR land. I can't believe you lefties cannot see what a prick the emperor is and defend this thuggish, inexcusable behavior.
