Spark and tripped breaker, now dryer won't heat
Hi. I plugged in a dryer cord to check the fit, and forgot to keep the ends away from each other. There was a spark, the breaker tripped, etc. I turned the breaker off, then back on, hooked the cord to dryer, and now it turns on and tumbles, but won't heat. I bought a new cord, tried again, same thing. Did I blow a breaker?

Its possible. Measure the voltages at the dryer connector. Should measure 120 VAC between red or black and ground or neutral and 240 between red and black.

Question, is this dryer a 120 Volt portable dryer?

Check the schematic of the dryer to see if the heating element is protected by a fuse.

A couple of days ago I returned from work and the power was out in my two bathrooms, my utility closet, and I noticed that a few plugs didn't work throughout the house. None of the breakers had tripped. I have tried resetting them all a few times anyway with no success. I also don't have any of...

I have a relatively new (2 years) maytag electirc dryer that won't heat. The issue started when the circuit breaker tripped and had to be reset. Now the dryer has power and will run but not heat. I have seen on other postings that there are a variety of reasons that the dryer may not be heating...

Amana Gas Dryer won't heat on heat cycle [ 2 Answers ]

I have an Amana gas dryer about 10 years old. The dryer will heat and the timer will advance on the timer cycle but it will not heat on the heat/more heat cycle. I have cleaned the lint vent entirely. I can see the ignitor get red hot and then ignites the gas on the timed setting. I am not sure...
