Spark and tripped breaker, now dryer won't heat
Hi. I plugged in a dryer cord to check the fit, and forgot to keep the ends away from each other. There was a spark, the breaker tripped, etc. I turned the breaker off, then back on, hooked the cord to dryer, and now it turns on and tumbles, but won't heat. I bought a new cord, tried again, same thing. Did I blow a breaker?

Its possible. Measure the voltages at the dryer connector. Should measure 120 VAC between red or black and ground or neutral and 240 between red and black.

If you say the dryer motor is running but the dryer does not heat...
It seems more likely there is a problem with the dryer than the electric...

Question, is this dryer a 120 Volt portable dryer?

Check the schematic of the dryer to see if the heating element is protected by a fuse.
