    3 way transformer
Hello, I have a 1955 United Clipper Shuffle Alley with a transformer issue.. If you don't know what a shuffle alley is, It is an old bowling game you play using a puck.

The issue I am having is that the 3 way transformer is dead.

I have added a photo as an attachment, but I don't know if it showed up.

My question is, do they make anything close to this and if not what do I look for.
This was donated to my Fire department and we would like to fix it for next to nothing.. What am I looking for?

    Thank you for looking

    INFO:

    115v in,

    115v out, 100v out, 30v out, 6v out

Looks like you have a 6, 30 and 100 volt taps, The 115 is likely In, the 2nd 115 could go to something else, but not fused? Can you provide more of the writing below the fuses, and tell what the pairs of wires are for(what they go to. You can use separate transformers, if bulbs, can change the voltage of bulbs so you have less transformers, What does the 30 volt fuse go to? May be able to convert all to 12 volts?

Just a suggestion, take a clear picture of the transformer and then visit Radio Shack or an electronics supply store and see if they can find a comparable transformer.

Question, how do you know that the transformer is dead? Can you see any insulation that may have boiled out?

Has anyone used a voltmeter to verify that the power is getting to the transformer? Are the purple and Yellow wires the input supply for the transformer.

Can you read the information that should be on the label that is on the transformer?

OK, Thanks for responding guys!. The info I have is that it burned up and has been tested with a multi-meter.. I do not know what the purple and yellow wires do... I will try to get a better picture of what it looks like now. The transformer is no longer attached to the unit but I still have it.. will post more Pictures tonight.

All of the info I have on this as follows.. :

    Transformer to fuse

115V It looks like the transformer is fed by the blue line and goes into transformer then back out and into the 10 amp fuse.

100v comes out of the Transformer and goes to a fuse titled LOW LINE.. no idea what the amps are on that.

30v comes out of the Transformer and goes to a 20 amp fuse titled COILS.

6v comes out of the transformer and goes to a 15 amp fuse titled LITES.

The Purple and Yellow WIRE terminations on the transformer have a "C" on them..

Your guess is as good as mine...

    Thanks in advance.

Yellow may be low voltage common, and the purple may be High voltage common(Neutral).
Can you verify color of neutral?
    Any Diodes?

Couldn't find transformer, found a couple of good links, 1 has the Schamatic for you, good info:

Clipper Shuffle Alley 1955 United Puck Bowler Schematic | eBay

United Chicago Coin Bally Ball Bowler Bowling machine Shuffle Alley Puck collector coin operated game

    https://www.google.com/search?q=Unit...x=&startPage=1

Coils may be solenoids that reset the Pins, You may want to visually inspect the coils and better would be to measure resistance to see if you can find a shorted coil(s) which may have taken out the transformer. Were fuses correct value for their position?

    Good Luck
