You need to go into breaker panel and check the breaker first, and the wires going into it. The wires get loose with time after expanding and contracting from heating and cooling off. This loosens the screws and will cause arcing and a fire. Use a round shaft screw driver with an insulated shaft big enough for the screws, like a #2, 3, or 4, depending on the screws to be tightened. Tighten all of the screws in the box on all breakers and if the wires have burned and melted off the insulation then cut the wire back and re-strip it and re-attach it in the breaker. You may have to replace some breakers if the heat ruined them, as is very common. Check your outlets next and tighten all screws and replace any burned outlets. This problem is probably all through your house and a #1 reason for house fires after dirty dryers used to be until they all began to use safeties. Don't delay on this either. You may also have to replace the dryer outlet, but also check the plug and how well it's tightened in the dryer. Those wires also loosen up and you may also need to tear it down and clean it.

Agree with what others have posted. The fan runs off 110/120 Vac, but the heater need 220/240 Vac. You're not getting power through one of the "hot" wires on the 220/240.

Our dryer doesn't heat. We are thinking it is either the element, thermal fuse, or thermostat. Regardless of the part, how do you get at them to replace. We have gotten into the machine through the front kick plate and have cleaned out everything within reach from the front kick plate and the...
