    1040ez and 540nr
    Hi,

I am an Indian citizen.I did my MS from Texas and worked as a student(F-1 visa) in Texas from jan 2006- may 2006. Then moved to CAlifornia where I worked on OPT(Optional practical training) from June 2006-Dec 2006. I received my first H1 paycheck during my first paycheck in jan 2007.

I have filed 1040EZ and 540NR. Was I supposed to file anything else, what about 1040 NR-EZ or 540 or both ?

You filed incorrectly for the federal tax return.

You need to submit Form 1040X and attach a properly-prepared Form 1040NR-EZ with the word "AMENDED" printed on the top of the Form 1040NR-EZ.

You also need to submit Form 8843 for 2006 with the amendment.
