    Laminate flooring gaping
Ive noticed 7 gaps in a certain area of our laminate floor. It was installed 6 yrs ago. The area is close to our dining table. Any possible causes. I noticed a couple last year now we have 7 . Most are 1/16inch.

    Hi SS175

It could be as simple as expansion and contraction, and in this case will contract back down a bit during the winter months (depending on where you live).

It could also be a spill that occurred and went unnoticed... got under floor and is causing swelling. In this case, a dehumidifier set to high in the room may help reduce the swelling.

If the gaps are not due to any of the above you can buy a color matched putty stick and fill the gaps if they really bug you... ;)
