    Smelly incision
    I had a hysterectomie with a cut rite above my vagina,bikini line.my lower stomach hangs over it which I can't see the cut unless I lift it.its always wet,smelly n red.surgery was done 8 days ago n its not healing properly.

    You needed to keep it very clean and dry, but now you need to tell the doctor's office that it's red, because it might be infected.

    You will still have to keep it clean and dry, at least twice a day. Mild soap and water, rinse well, pat dry, air dry for as long as you can lie down, and wipe it with peroxide on a paper towel a few times a day too. If you can sit around naked when watching TV etc, do so, and hold your stomach up to let air around it.

    Yes well that's what I've bin doing but my doctor is now telling me I'm washing it too much n to only do it once a day.

    I don't think you can really wash too much, but the problem is to then get it super dry. Don't use baby powder, and use air as much as possible.
    Peroxide is not only antiseptic, it's drying, so wiping with a little on a paper towel might be best.
