    Laparascopic incision infection
Hello, I had a laparascopy 2 weeks ago, one incision has healed, but other one at my navel doesn`t getting any better. Its red, tender under skin, has yellowish discharge, and hurts so much with increasing pain. I went in to surgical unit where I had the surgery (as we advised to do in case of the problem) there they contacted my surgeon and doctor who advised me to go to A&E for a check, because they weren't at the unit at that time. I went to A&E where I've been turned away with only painkillers and done nothing for the wound. I though I might be over reacted a bit, but my wound getting worse, and pain increase. What can I do?

I can't believe you were treated that way! CALL the surgical unit's desk and demand help for INFECTION. Or go to the walk-in clinic. I don't know what sort of place you use. But I would be more insistent with the area where you had the surgery.
Meanwhile, wash 3 times a day (or more) with peroxide and soapy water, rinse well, pat dry, and keep tight clothes away from the area. Tape a small gauze pad over it, with a little anti-bacterial ointment, all available at a drugstore. That might be enough unless the infection is more internal.

Incision Infection in Spayed Dog [ 1 Answers ]

My doxie-terrier pups were spade on Monday and have for the most part been recovering normally. Abby pulled out a couple of stitches Tuesday night, but the vet didn't seem overly concerned about it and assured us that her incision would heal normally. He also gave us Elizabethan collars for both...
