    Current NEC code is not the issue. You need to know the what edition of code is being used by your "LAH" for your area.

    For example, the 2014 is anticipated for this Fall. I live in Virginia we are currently using the 2008 edition of the NEC. We will move to the 2011 edition of code when the new Building code announces and references the 2011 edition of code.

    Are you saying it can be duplex? Needs to be GFI? or Hopefully you aren't asking a specific code?

    Well, there is no code saying it needs to be a single receptacle, or even a dedicated circuit. There is a code however saying it must be GFI if within 6' of a laundry sink. There is no exception.
