    My poor puppy
My 5 year old Rottweiler is acting very odd today. She is very sluggish, very tired, she has cloudy eyes, dry mouth, cold, but she has a regular heart beat and is breathing normal. Please help... I want to know what's wrong with my puppy.

What did the vet say? Did the vet run any tests?

We can't take her to the vet, we don't have the money. The last time she acted weird the vet said to give her children's benadryl... and I gave it to her, but its not doing anything. She's just sleepy.

Benadryl will make her sleepy, but why did the doctor recommend benadryl?

It's very dangerous to medicate when you're not sure what the problem is.

There's really nothing we can do for you online. We can't diagnose what's going on online. So you either take her to the vet, or hope that it's not something dangerous and she gets over it. Those are your two options.

There is no way for us to tell what is wrong with her online. But sluggish, tired and dry mouth are not good signs. You say cold, do you mean that her gums and mouth feel cold. Do you have a digital thermometer? If so,take her temperature rectally, it should be between 101-102. If she is cold then get stated on warming her up and then call family, friends that can possibly help you out with some money. Call humane societies, shelters and ask if they know of any low cost programs available. Call vets offices and ask about payment plans, but it looks to me like you need to get her in to be seen.

If you cannot afford a vet, not even the office call, than you have no business owning an animal.

Obviously the dog is suffering from dehydration.. that can only be righted by using medical grade fluids.

So sad that animals have to suffer at the hands of their people :(

And, of course, Benadryl makes people sleepy.

Agree - an animal suffers because the owners can't afford a Vet. I can't help but notice that the owners have Internet access.
