How do I cap black and white power after disconnecting trailer water pump
I own a travel trailer that appears to have a leaking water pump. I've disconnected the black and white power wires and removed the pump and am not sure how to handle the bare power wires. I've put caps on each but when I reconnected the power to the trailer, I heard a snap and wasn't sure if I may have caused some electrical damage. Have I done something incorrectly?

You pulled the pump, wire nutted the black and white supply. Should work. Where did the black and white originate? Make sure this is not switch looped or you may still have a hot in a junction box. Test to see if black or white was hot. Make sure the wire nuts cover the bare part of the supply, at least the power lead. Some people cut the bare end off, wire nut and tape too. Is there a circuit breaker for this. 120VAC or 12VDC?
