When my family and I moved into this house there was well water which we had tested and found it to be contaminated. So, we paid to have city water run to the house. The well water was never completely disconnected. There are two black plastic pipes or (hoses) that come in through the basement wall about two feet from the floor. There are no valves or anything between were the pipes come in from the wall and the pump. The pipes or hoses are connected to the pump with hose clamps. When I loosen the clamps and slide the pipe back, water starts to seep out so, I quickly slide it back and tighten the clamp. My question is what procedure do I follow to disconnect the pump? Can I do it from inside the house or outside the house? The well does not supply water to any part of the house and I want to get rid of the pump so I can use that part of the basement. I tried to be as specific as I can but, if you need more detail please ask me. Thank You. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Disconnect the suction line from the pump. Unclamp the hoses from the outlet of the pump and disconnect the electricity and that should free the pump. Good luck, tom
